When a roof has had one patch repair too many, a re-roof is the job that lasts. We strip it back to the rafters, check every timber, and build it up again with modern materials underneath and the covering you choose on top.
How we do it
- Scaffold and edge protection go up, and the old covering comes off course by course.
- Every rafter is checked. Anything soft or sagging is put right before anything new goes on.
- Breathable membrane and treated battens, set out for the size of slate or tile.
- New slates or tiles from the eaves up, then the ridge, the lead and the gutters.

Fibre-cement slateThe slate look at a lower cost and lighter weight.
Concrete tileHard-wearing and good value for semis and bungalows.

How long does a re-roof take?
Most terraced and semi-detached houses take six to eight working days, depending on the weather.
Do I need to move out?
No. You can stay at home throughout. The roof is covered over at the end of every day.
Can you match my neighbours’ slates?
Usually, yes. We bring samples to the survey so you can see them against the street.
